June 6th-15th - 59th Annual Lilac Festival.  Flowers, food, games, parades and a popular 10k run will all take place on Mackinac Island this week.  The Lilac Parade is one of the largest festival parades in the state.

June 7th - 9th - Free Fishing Weekend. No license needed to fish anywhere in Michigan

August 8th - 10th - Alanson Riverfest 2007 This brand new festival, in tandem with the Crooked River limited hydroplane boat races, offers something for everyone. December 3rd -  Christmas Open House, Harbor Springs. In addition to offering a festive "taste" of Northern Michigan's best shopping, dining and services, the Harbor Springs Christmas Open House will be highlighted by late night shopping, in store incentives and refreshments and holiday entertainment, including horse and carriage rides down Main Street, and the annual arrival of Santa Claus by Harbor Springs Area Fire Department truck at 5:30pm at the Downtown Christmas Tree. Get in the spirit of the holidays at this small-town celebration! 6pm - 9pm

December 5th -  Christmas Open House, Petoskey. Enjoy an old fashioned, small town experience when you visit the Gaslight District in Petoskey on this night. You will love the carolers, roasted chestnuts and late night shopping 6-9 pm

31st - Nub's Nob New Year's Eve Fun, Celebrate the New Year with great tunes from 3pm - 6pm in the Nub's Pub. Then watch the Torchlight Parade beginning at 6pm at the bottom of the Green lift.

February 2008

February 15th - Blissfest Winter Concert Series - Peter Ostroushko at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey.  Peter Ostroushko is one of the finest mandolin and fiddle players in the world.  Peter will be accompanied on guitar by Danny Gothham.  Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.

February 16th - Petoskey's Winter Carnival.  Don't miss Petoskey's bump-jumping competition and the 15th Annual Cardboard Challenge at the Winter Sports Park.  A great day of family fun!

February 16th-17th- Free Fishing Weekend.  All fishing license fees will be waived for residents and out of state visitors who want to fish our lakes and streams this weekend.

February 22nd-24th - Burton Demo Tour at Boyne Highlands.  The tour features stops in the US where riders can test ride the latest Burton gear for FREE!

February 23rd - Burton Slopestyle Competition - Boyne Highlands.  The Burton Crew will be holding a Slopestyle competition in Boyne's terrain park.  Spectators are welcome.

February 24th - Burton Halfpipe Competition at Boyne Highlands.  This event will draw riders from all over the Midwest.

February 25th - 3-on-3 Indoor Soccer Championship at North Central Michigan College.  High school boys and girls are invited to take part in this event.

February 29th - Petoskey Boat Show at North Central Michigan College.  This is your best chance to see a huge selection of watercraft all under one roof.  The show runs all weekend.

March 1st - Snow Softball Tournament.  Petoskey Bayfront park.  You don't need to wait to play softball this year!  Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.  For more information, call 231-548-3617.

March 1st-2nd - Wonder Weekend.  Wonder Weekend returns to Petoskey!  You'll find surprises in the unique and quaint shops we all love so much. 

March 2nd-3rd - Mackinaw Mush Annual Dog Sled Race.  The 19th annual gathering of these dogs is sure to be an exciting one.  The event takes off near the IGA in Mackinaw City.

March 8th - 9th Annual Nub's Nord.  Nordic festival for Telemark and Cross Country skiers.  Bring your friends!

March 8th - 16th - Canadian Discount Period.  A great big welcome to our friends north of the border.  Canadian money will be accepted at par for lift tickets only at Nub's Nob.

March 9th - 3-on-3 Indoor Soccer Championship at North Central Michigan College.  This event is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8.  For more information, contact Zach Jonker at 231-838-7363.

March 15th - Krazy Daze at Boyne Highlands.  Costume contest, obstacle slalom and much more!  The event is designed for the whole family.

March 15th - 46th Annual Nub's Nob Open.  Top to bottom World Cup style slalom racing on Birch Run and Smokey.

March 15th-16th - 32nd Annual Home Show at North Central Michigan College.  Chase away the mid-winter doldrums and start a new project.  The show runs through Sunday afternoon.

March 22nd - Mardi Gras at Nub's Nob.  Spring fling with fun, games and skiing for everyone.  Don't miss the Soaker Cup Challenge.  There will also be musical entertainment.

April 2008

April 11th - Chubby Checker in Concert.  Chubby Checker is the only artist to have five albums in the Top 12 all at once.  He'll perform at Ovation Hall at the new Odawa Casino Resort at 8pm.

April 12th - Blissfest Winter Concert Series - The Milroys.  The husband and wife songwriging team will take you on a musical journey through darker America.  8pm at Crooked Tree Arts Center.  Tickets in advance and at the door.

April 18th -20th - Scrapbooking Retreat at Trout Creek. Friday morning until Sunday afternoon. Scrap with us all weekend! Hosted by Scrappers Attic.
