As many of you may know or if you are not aware, Trout Creek was impacted by a generational storm that meteorologists are calling the worst in over 100 years. Miraculously, Trout Creek came out of the ice storm with little building damage, however; the damage to our trees is extensive. Even though the ice on the trees has melted, we still have snow in some areas. Due to the heavy weight of the ice, some trees have been uprooted due to the softening of the ground during the thaw.

If you have already booked a trip with us or are considering a trip, this notice is intended to update, inform, and outline what lies ahead in the cleanup process.

Roadways – All roadways are clear and navigable. There are many limbs still hung up in the canopy. Please be aware when walking along the roadway.

Buildings – All our condos are completely habitable with tree debris currently being cleaned from patios and decks. Tree debris will be staged nearest to the wood line until they can be chipped. Please stay away from the debris.

Common Areas – Crews are in the process of clearing debris from the grounds and common areas. Areas that are in the process of being cleaned up are the fitness center, outdoor pool, office pool, soccer field, tennis/pickleball courts, and playground. The above areas will be open for use, as regularly scheduled.  If an area is unsafe, it will be marked with caution tape.

Nature Trails – All hiking trails will remain closed until further notice. Dead falls lie in the woods and will be safely removed once higher priority issues are complete.

In the upcoming weeks, expect to see cleanup efforts in progress as several limbs and trees on the roadsides and on property will take time to remove.  As cleanup efforts continue, we ask to use caution while navigating the property.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office on 231-526-2148. We’ll continue to provide regular updates in the days and weeks ahead.

Thank you!
