Biking in Harbor Springs and Petoskey

Little Traverse Wheelway

This is a wonderful 26 mile stretch running between Harbor Springs, Petoskey and Charlevoix. This path is paved which makes it one of the finest and safest family bike routes in Northern Michigan. This trail will take you along the shores of Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan where you will find small parks and rest stops every so often to stop and enjoy the beauty of this area. The North Western State Trail – Petoskey to Mackinaw City.  This beautiful trail runs along the former Grand Rapids and Indiana Line of the Pennsylvania Railroad (once known as “The Fishing Line”) that opened in 1882 and in some areas until 1992. The total distance is 35 miles and runs from M-119 – Mackinaw City.

Wilderness State Park  – 27 miles from Trout Creek…located only 11 miles west of Mackinaw City – has a number of backwoods trails that are well suited for more adventurous mountain biking.
