We were all in lockdown mode for several months but now is the time to get out (albeit safely) and enjoy the world around you. There simply is not a better place to experience the great outdoors than northern Michigan.

Take advantage of the amazing weather that we have been having all month – it has been hot and sunny just about every single day!

Have you been golfing? There are championship courses such as Hidden River Golf and Casting, Boyne, Crooked Tree and Bay Harbor. But there are also courses that are less expensive that you may feel more comfortable to take the kids to. Springbrook, Indian River and Chestnut Valley may fit that bill nicely for you. But either way…there is golf closeby for all to enjoy.

How about boating? Now there is an adventure! This area is so fortunate to have the Inland Waterway closeby. This series of lakes and rivers are connected by the locks between Crooked Lake and Crooked River. Power boats, jet skis and pontoon rentals are available at the Windjammer Marina and Ryde Marina. (Save 10% at Windjammer when you rent a Trout Creek Condo) This all day adventure makes for a memorable day for sure with swimming, water skiing and fishing.

Hiking is easily available for all levels of hikers. Start with the trails right on-site at Trout Creek. Pick up a trail map at the front desk.

Nature Preserves – There are over 40 preserves to explore in the area. The newest nature preserve is the Offield Family Viewlands (formerly the Little Traverse Bay Golf Club) and it’s only 5 minutes from Trout Creek. Situated on 280 acres with gorgeous views of Little Traverse Bay and is open to the public to bird watch, hike and bike.

The Little Traverse Bay Ferry is the newest edition to the Harbor Springs – Petoskey Area. What a great and unique way to visit the resort towns of Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Bay Harbor.
